Borderland's New Christmas Lights
The Christmas lights at the Borderlands office have gone up today, on the third day of Blogmas. Usually we only have a small Christmas tree in the corner and a wee USB Christmas tree on the desk.
This year is different though, all the shops and businesses around Brampton Town Centre are going all out in lighting up and decorating because it has been such a hard year. Christmas is not going to be as family orientated this year whilst many are staying safe, there are also many facing a Christmas alone or having to endure a sparse Christmas because of redundancy or loss of income. So, this year everyone seems to be going above and beyond with their decorating to cheer others up, which shows the lovely community spirit we have in this town.
The Howard Arms and Mr Browns Café are beautifully lit up, and as you walk down the High Street there are lights in windows and above shops. The focal point being the beautifully lit Moot Hall in the marketplace. It really is a wonderful sight.
So, this year our Borderlands VA Network office has lights in all its windows, to add our mark on the high street.
It is lovely to be part of such a warm-hearted community and if you have any time to spare, take a drive through Brampton town centre, it is well worth it!
